New Year's 2008 Project
Thank you to everyone who supported and volunteered their time to our 2008 project. With your contributions our team was able to provide healing to more than 540 patients in the village of Andahuaylillas. Nearly every child who came to our free clinic was diagnosed with parasites and every one of them was treated. People traveled from nearby villages, such as one family who walked six hours down a mountain to see our physicians. Pains, aches and infections were remedied. Women received OB-GYN care. Translators who spoke the native Quechua tongue, Spanish and English broke down language barriers and afforded Peru's poor a chance to receive quality care from the "American doctors." Our little clinic was open for three days. Hundreds came each day forming a line that stretched long before noon. Patients humbly thanked our team for treating them with kindness. We thanked them for allowing us to do it.
